So awesome. Thanks opponauts for sharing yesterday. I learned more in an hour playing the game than I have in the last few months total:
- Variations in timing (Knew what it was, but didn't know why
- Cam Lobe profiles (Knew about duration and lift. Kind of understood why. Now I know more)
- Knock (Learned I was completely mistaken about knock. Now I know more)
- Downtuning (I've spent most of my automotive enthusiasm learning about tuning cars to make them faster/more powerful. Learned quite a bit last night about the inverse)
And a ton more. Such a fun game. I'm gonna have to buy it.

This game has me doing just as much offline work as online. I ended up rounding out my lineup using Excel and wikipedia (it's for a what if AMC was more like the VW group and less like AMC). Instead of having to do 1-5 engines per model as I do the model, now I have a good base family of engines I can use. That should simplify the process quite a bit. Unfortunately, most of my car lines and engine sizes aren't available yet in the game, so I'm going to have to fudge my data a little bit. But I'll start working on my AMC rehash tonight. CAN'T WAIT.

You should come share your plans with the forum folks, there are a few threads and forums for that sort of thing - http://automationgame.com/phpBB3/index.p…

...and now I'm so happy that Lead devs hang out in oppo.
Dude, this game is freaking sweet. Over the last few years, being both an enthusiast, and the driver of a 23 year old car with a Japanese-only engine swap, I've learned a ton about engines (and cars in general).
I also learned an absolute ton playing your game for about 4 hours last night. Like, a staggering amount. One of my prevailing thoughts is that this should be in every shop class in every high school in the world because A) It's fun as hell and B) You'll trick kids into learning a lot of stuff in the meantime.
Also, totally gonna have to buy the game. Can't build my RB20DET without it!
